The 32-bit processor utilized by the Game Boy Advance allowed for many old favourites from Nintendo’s previous consoles to be given new life on the hand held circuit. The Advance gained popularity with nostalgic gamers who could enjoy some of their old games in a new light. Moreover, the Advance brought a plethora of new popular games to the market, including Mario Advance and the various incarnations of Pokemon.
The Game Boy Advance would go on to be redesigned numerous times. The Advance SP was released in 2003, featuring improved battery life, LCD screen and reducing the size of the system almost by half.
