Sega Saturn
The Sega Saturn was Sega’s first 32 bit console, produced in the mid 90s. As the hype surrounding the impending Sony Playstation reached high levels, Sega pulled out all the stops in order to produce a console to rival the newcomer. The company threw a lot into the Saturn, perhaps a little too much. Dual CPUs and multiple processors meant that whilst being technically ahead of rival consoles, the Saturn was perhaps too far ahead, with games developers struggling to adapt their games to the complicated format of the machine, and many titles showed for it.
Despite this, the Saturn excelled in various areas of the market, producing many famous RPGs. When utilized correctly the console boasted powerful graphics capabilities, and allowed for both audio and video CD media.
