Petroglyph and Mytheon
Combining elements of the Action, RTS (real time strategy) and MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Game) genres, Petroglyph's upcoming title Mytheon is set to take the online gaming world by storm. Set to steep the player in the rich and exciting world of mythological ancient Greece, the scale of this endeavour is leading to a growing sense of excitement amongst the MMORPG gamers of the world.
The game revolves around a Power Stone system, which like in other strategy games can be manipulated to provide certain things or carry out certain actions. These stones are used for combat orientated spells and summons, whilst others offer building and construction features. Differing factions and classes of people have access to different stones, and thus a diverse and challenging world is set.
This ambitiois title is set to feature an open world unlike any seen before, allowing players to come and go as they please, fight in pitched battles or challenge fellow players online. With a rich and immersive storyline, Mytheon promises to keep players hooked with a range of specific game events and sidequests. The open ended story is set to receive periodic updates, a highly important factor in an age where many MMORPGs are simply left dead in the water whilst players continue to fork out subscription fees.
Whilst nothing especially unique to Mytheon has been announced as of yet, (what we've heard so far doesn't sound too much different from other MMORPGs out there) Petroglyph are a well known and respected presence in the online gaming circle, and if they promise something out of this world, you can't help but get excited!
